Tuesday, August 10th

The heat wave continues. We haven't had a day under 90 with 90% humidity for six weeks or so now and there's no end in sight. It's making my normally sweet disposition more and more crabby. Summer in the south isn't comfortable in the best of circumstances but this is getting ridiculous. And the air conditioning cannot keep up. Even climate controlled buildings are getting uncomfortably warm.

Tommy and I are rehearsing for the opening fund raiser for the Virginia Samford Theatre which goes up week after this. There is still no script but we're getting our number, 'Heart' from Damn Yankees down. How it fits into the evening, we do not know. All should be revealed shortly. We also return to men's chorus in the next week or so and church choir starts up again shortly so much singing to do.

Very busy trying to get the first issue of the audio course I am editing off the ground. Half the review team quit before getting started and I'm trying to flog the remainder while recruiting more. It should all settle down by October, with luck. The rest of work grinds on apace. Nothing terribly exciting one way or another.

Saw the Swedish film version of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' which both Tommy and I enjoyed, having read the book. I can't see Hollywood doing better with a remake as it's so Scandinavian in some respects.
