Monday, February 19th

PIC is coming together finally. It will be a show. Now we just need to sell some tickets. Usually we sell out well in advance. This year, they're not moving like they usually do. The Capitol Steps are in town this weekend and that may be taking some of the usual crowd. Maybe it's something in the water.

Tommy has not been feeling well and seems to be settling into bronchitis which is making him miserable. It hasn't hit me yet and I'm hoping it stays away through the performances this weekend. I can get sick next week if I have to.

Hasn't been a whole lot else going on around our house the last couple of weeks. Did get out to the national tour of 'Spelling Bee' which was cute, but not all that and to a friend's one man production of Bogosian's 'Funhouse' which was better than I expected.

Nothing too exciting on for the next few weeks. March gets more interesting with having to zoom to Nashville, Cincinatti and West Virginia for various reasons.

Thursday, February 8th

The last train left Anatevka this past weekend and 'Fiddler on the Roof' is no more. It was a lot of fun, a good show and I learned a lot about holding my own onstage with some veteran performers so I'm glad I did it. The major criticism I heard about my performance as Lazar is that I was just too cute for the role. Go figure. As soon as I can get my hands on a photo, I'll post it and you can decide for yourselves if my aging self with Uncle Fester eye makeup was cute or not.

The next few weeks are given over to catching up at work and getting the 2007 version of Politically Incorrect Cabaret ready. My number is fine, as it is just stand there and sing and most of the rest of the music is getting there. The transitions are still pretty horrid but I just wrote them last week and they haven't been rehearsed properly. It should be fine by the time we do it on the 23rd and 24th. A Nashville date is up in the air and we are booked for Atlanta on the 14th of April.

Nothing else on the horizon yet. Some auditions coming up this month and next. I assume I will do either 'Cabaret' or 'Evita' late this spring. It will depend, to a certain extent, on Tommy's school schedule. He starts rehearsing for La Boheme with the opera this next week for late March performances.

Not much new on the work front. Various and sundry plans for expansion in geriatrics clinical services, but nothing yet beyond the 'what if' stage. To make it all work, we're going to have to hire more people which will be difficult as good clinical geriatricians interested in working within academic systems are hard to find.

We're looking at making a New Years trip with friend to London this next year. Sounds like it could be a blast - a group from Birmingham theater rodding around Merrie Olde England.
