Friday, March 16th

No update in nearly a month. Boy am I behind in my chronicles. I wish I could say it's because absolutely nothing is happening, but it's not that. Call it a case of the dispirited laziness or something. Now that we're through the time change and spring is definitely in the air and the dogwoods and redbuds are in flower (about a month early) the blood may start to pump.

PIC had its Birmingham performances to reasonable houses and we did the out of town gig in Nashville this last weekend. The show, per usual, came together at the last minute and isn't half bad. A lot tighter and flows better than usual and it's really helped by Aaron's 'Serenissimus' who can keep things moving along with a word or a gesture. We have one more scheduled gig in Atlanta in mid April and then we call it quits until election season I suppose. There needs to be a bunch of behind the scenes discussion as to whether it needs to become more of a show or more of a political happening. It's trying to be both and that dynamic is causing some problems and it needs to move towards one pole or the other. If I get any photos, I'll post them. My Carmen Miranda get up seems to be the winner this time around.

I'm in the throes of writing a bunch of talks to be given at the end of this month. Two of the three are done. I'm kind of stuck on the third one and have to break the back on it this weekend one way or another. It's a trends and ideas talk which usually aren't too hard but I gave a similar speech to this group three years ago and I don't just want to repeat myself. I can do better.

The next projects are two - the annual tap show (in which I am doing 'Magic Foot' from 'Spelling Bee', 'Tackle That Temptation with a Time Step' from 'Nunsense', 'Knights of the Round Table' from 'Spamalot' and 'Expressing Yourself' from 'Billy Elliot') and I have to write an interactive murder mystery for a dinner party that's happening in five weeks. Haven't done one of those in a while and the juices haven't started to flow yet.

Everything else is more or less same old same old. Going to do some auditions for 'Cabaret', 'Evita' and possibly 'Damn Yankees' in a few weeks and see what I get... Tommy is busy with 'La Boheme' which goes up in two weeks. He's having a ball.
